¿µ¹®³»¿ë¿ä¾à In recent days, there have been several approaches to applying the SDN concept, characterized by a clear separation of the control and data planes, to wireless access networks. The SDN-like control framework can simplify the seamless handover and mobility management of wireless mobile networks, and can lower operational costs. Hence, the SDN framework can be extended to wireless access networks such as IEEE 802.11 WLAN. On the other hand, IEEE 802.21 MIS(Media Independent Services) framework for wireless access networks is to facilitate interworking between IEEE 802 networks for improving the user experience of mobile devices. It supports seamless handover and mobility management in heterogeneous wireless access networks. It can be used to provide seamless network configuration for resource allocations while MN moving across wireless access networks. Therefore, IEEE 802.21-based and SDN-based wireless access networks need to cooperate with each other. Cooperation between the MIS and SDN frameworks is important because it shows complementary relationship between them. This standard introduces cooperation models between MIS and SDN control frameworks which are called overlay, interworking, and integrated models. For each model, scenarios and signaling message flows are explained for cooperation between MIS and SDN control frameworks. This standard also includes MIS use case for SDRANs(Software-Defined Radio Access Networks). Signaling flows of seamless handover procedure are described for the MIS use case in SDRANs.
