본 표준은 국제 해사 기구에 의해 채택된 국제해상안전협약(SOLAS)의 3장과 4장에 정의된 무선설비의 요구 사항에 부합하고, 406㎒ 위성 비상 위치지시용 무선표지설비의 관한 국제해사기구의 결의안 A.810(19) 성능 표준을 만족하여 각국의 주관청에 의해 형식 승인되도록 지원할 수 있도록 측정시의 제한사항, 시험장치, 시험조건, 비콘측정 사양 등에 대해 정의한다. |

This standard assists in meeting a requirement of the international convention for Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), adopted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), that radio equipment defined in chapters Ⅲ and Ⅳ, and the performance requirements defined in Resolution A.809(19) of the International Maritime Organization, be type approved by administrations (Administrations are defined by the IMO as governments of the states whose flags the ships are entitled to fly). |
