본 표준에서 제시하는 개체명 태그 세트의 가장 주된 용도는 자동 개체명 인식을 위한 학습자료로 활용되는 개체명 태깅 말뭉치 작성용이다. 태깅 말뭉치 구축 시에는 대상 범위가 애매하거나, 대상 개체명이 2개 이상의 태그로 부착이 가능한 상황 등의 애매한 상황이 많이 발생한다. 본 표준에서는 개체명 태깅 시에 발생할 수 있는 애매한 상황들을 해소할 수 있도록 각 태그 별로 태깅 시에 참고할 수 있는 태깅 지침을 기술한다. |

The tagging of Named Entities, the names of particular things or classes, is regarded as an important component technology for many NLP applications. These applications include question answering (QA), summarization, information retrieval (IR) and information extraction (IE).
