| 영문내용요약 | Geographic Information Systems(GIS) are relatively new and interrelated technologies. Since GIS field is undergoing rapid growth and change, the associated terminology is appeared in a constant state of flux. The appearances of new concepts and functions of GIS produce new terms and change meanings for existing terms whose definitions are frequently in dispute. In addition to this, there is extensive usage of multiple terms for the same meaning and vice versa in GIS fields. The existing use of multiple terms for the same concept or single term for different concepts within GIS field make users difficult in GIS fields. This situation creates an environment of uncertainty and confusion for many users using GIS. Therefore the standardization of terminology is needed today. The purpose of this draft is to standardize the term and definition of GIS terminology used in GIS fields. | ||
