¿µ¹®³»¿ë¿ä¾à nlike vision and auditory, it is very difficult for olfaction to be digitalized for application in the multimedia system, because olfaction depends on complex chemical composition and human react emotionally to olfactory stimulation.
Olfactory does not have a standardized data presenting method or user interface method with these problems yet like that of vision or auditory.
The interaction model between the contents and the scent display device is defined as new standards in order that contents developer might easily apply the olfactory display technology to the existing contents, even though they don't know the differentiated properties of scents and a specification of scent display devices.
The interaction model between the contents and the scent display device are composed of the following three detailed standards.
‧ Reference model for interaction between Scent Display Device and Contents
(Part 1 : The Structure of Reference Model)
‧ Reference model for interaction between Scent Display Device and Contents
(Part 2 : API Function for Scent Contents)
‧ Reference model for interaction between Scent Display Device and Contents
(Part 3 : Scent code)
The standard just defines the structure of reference model (Part 1) of three detailed standards
The four parts for the interaction model between the contents and the scent display device defined in the standard are as follows:
- Device Capability
- Scent Effect
- User Effect Preference
- Device Command
The standard just proposes the definition, function, data format for expression and interconnection with four parts.
The three database for the interaction model between the contents and the scent display device defined in the standard are as follows:
- Scent Code DB
- Device Capability DB
- User effect preference DB
The standard just proposes the definition, function and data format for expression with three database.
