| 한글내용요약 | 후각의 경우, 시각이나 청각 등과 같은 표준화된 정보 표현 방법이나 사용자 인터페이스 방법이 제공되지 않고 있다. 후각은 시각과 청각과는 달리 화학적 요소에 의해 구성되는 복잡한 성분에 의해 지배되며, 인간은 이를 감성적 요소로 처리하기 때문에 정보화하기 매우 어렵다고 할 수 있다.
본 표준에서는 후각 디스플레이 기술에서 필요로 하는 다양한 필요 요소를 분석하여 향후 사용자 인터페이스에서 필요로 하는 필수요소를 모델화하고자 한다. 먼저, 냄새의 사용에 있어 참조해야 하는 필요 참조 가이드라인이 제시된다. 또한 다른 감각과의 멀티모달 조화를 위한 기본 참조 가이드라인과 교차 모달리티의 효과에 의한 문제점을 극복하는 최소 정보화 필요 요소를 제시한다. 이러한 참조 가이드라인을 통해 후각 사용자 인터페이스를 구성할 때 필수적으로 포함되어야 하는 표현 참조 모델을 제시하여, 향후 적절한 후각 사용자 인터페이스 기술의 기반 표준이 될 수 있도록 한다. |

| 영문내용요약 | Current user interfaces mainly apply three senses: vision(e.g. text, graphics and animation), audition and haptics (e.g. tactile display and force feedback). Humans have much richer capabilities than that, and olfactory displays are now seen as a possibility inclusion in user interface.
For the representation of olfactory display, this standard propose reference model and guideline based on representation method and user interface for olfactory display technologies. The core proposals for this standard are as follows : - The reference guidelines for use of smell - The reference guidelines for multimodal combination and cross modalities between olfactory display and other modalities (e.g. visualization, sonification and haptic display) - The reference model of olfactory representation for user interfaces - The reference model for olfactory iconography |
