The technical report analyzes the characteristics and protection criteria of airport surveillance radar for efficient use of the 2.7-2.9 GHz band. Chapter 5, Section 1, describes the characteristics defined in Recommendation ITU-R M.1464-2 of ASR for shared studies. Chapter 5, Section 2, introduces the method of a Minimum Coupling Loss (MCL) analysis on the inter-radar interference effects based on the Recommendation ITU-R M.1461-2. Chapter 5, Section 3, describes the analysis method for the required separation frequency and distance between the radar to meet the protection criteria (I/N =-10 dB), based on the transmission and reception characteristics of the ASR. Furthermore, the appendix analyzes the status of domestic ASR and suggests the possibility of increasing frequency efficiency through the channelization of 2.7-2.9 GHz band.
