This standard provides a storage protection framework that safely protects data stored in storage even when malware is executed within the host due to social engineering attacks that bypass network protection and endpoint protection or induce user errors. In detail, this standard defines the functional structure and components of the storage protection framework, describes its operation procedures, and provides potential security threats and security requirements related to it. Finally, five use cases applying this storage protection framework are provided in the appendix.
