This standard specifies improvements to the basic standard (IEEE Std 802.1CMTM-2018). The basic standard defines the requirements for each of the two classes defined in the fronthaul (Class 1- CPRI (Common Public Radio Interface), Class 2- eCPRI (Enhanced CPRI)) and the requirements for building a TSN-based bridged network. Enhancements in this standard include improvements to the fronthaul profile that defines the bridge, station, and LAN features, options, configurations, defaults, protocols and procedures for new development of fronthaul interface standards and related synchronization and synchronization standards.
