¿µ¹® ³»¿ë¿ä¾à The Technical Report describes the network slicing which provides service separation, quality assurance and stability with virtual network obtained from the physical 5G network. The concept, architecture, operation/management, utilization in various kinds of industries, and standards of ETSI, GSMA, IETF and 3GPP are described.
Various kinds of technologies such as network slicing, edge computing and network exposure were introduced in 5G to support industry¡¯s diversity in 5G application. The network slicing technology provides the method to configure, operate and manage the virtual network based on physical network. With network slicing, industries such as manufacturing, energy, vehicle and so on can secure the required quality of service, minimization of impact between services with virtual network separation, simplified network re-configuration according to the newly developed request with automation. With the improved support from the network slicing, 5G application to industry can be vitalized.
The Technology Report consists with two parts. First part is devoted to the value, use cases of network slicing in industry with the comparison with operator¡¯s public network and private network. The second part describes the SDO¡¯s role in standardization of network slicing and the standard specifications that can be helpful to understand the concept, architecture, and utilization of the technology.
