3GPP¿¡¼­´Â ´Ù¾çÇÑ »ê¾÷ÀÇ ¿ä±¸»çÇ×À» ¹Ý¿µÇϱâ À§ÇØ 5G ³×Æ®¿öÅ©ÀÇ ±¸Á¶¸¦ Àü¸é °³ÆíÇÏ¿´À¸¸ç, »õ·Î¿î ±â¼úÀÇ µµÀÔÀ» ÁøÇàÇÏ¿´´Ù. ¿µ¹® ³»¿ë¿ä¾à This report describes the network exposure operation, which is the core technology to provide network APIs in various kinds of industry. Use cases of the network exposure for the factory, energy industries, vehicles focus on the integration with industry applications and industry automations. Utilizing network exposure with local connectivity of data plane, industry such as factory can integrated their application system with industry site installed 5G network with standardized API. This feature of 5G network can provide the capability of investigating the 5G network status, control of the 5G network¡¯s performance parameters with easy device utilization. Tightly coupled industry¡¯s application and 5G network installed provides automation capability.

In order to support the aforementioned network exposure feature in 5G network, 3GPP has developed specifications concerned on the network exposure in the 5G system with a newly defined functional entity, Network Exposure Function (NEF). The NEF provides monitoring, provisioning, and analytics capabilities to the 3rd-party applications via a set of standard interfaces for a diverse use in the vertical domain.

In this report, the network exposure operation of 5G network is described with its concept, functional features, and use cases; and is followed by a brief summary of network exposure capabilities of the 5G system as specified in the 3GPP Rel-16.
