The standard specifies the service framework for C-V2X by specifying 1) reference architecture and 2) functional procedures that are introduced to enable V2X in 3GPP. The reference architecture part specifies protocol stacks, network nodes and the interfaces between the network nodes defined for V2X, and then describes the reference network architecture models for various V2X scenarios. The functional procedures include the essential service elements that span from service authorization of V2X service, provisioning of V2X configuration, V2X message transmission and reception, QoS management, charging and security/privacy aspect.
