This technical report introduces the basic concepts of decentralized identifiers and the characteristics of decentralized, permanent, cryptographically verifiable, and resolvable of decentralized identifiers. In addition, it describes the function of Use, Create, Read, Update, and Delete, which are actions supported by the decentralized identifier. Finally, it describes the main features supported by the decentralized identifier and introduces the benefits and focal use cases that the features provide.
