"A ZigBee-based IR remote control repeater is required to control the IR-based legacy home appliances. A home server can transfer the control message to the ZigBee-based IR remote control repeater which regenerates and transmits the IR signal waveform to the legacy home appliance. IR signal waveforms are various according to the manufacturers and the kind of products. It is necessary to describe the IR signal waveform with a simple message profile.
This standard defines the profile architecture to describe various types of IR signal waveforms with a little data. "
