본 표준은 전통적인 syslog를 염두에 두고 원래 설계 목표로 작성되었다. 표준 트랙과 전송 독립적인 RFC의 부족으로 인해 신뢰성 있고 안전한 syslog 확장으로의 표준화 노력으로 새로운 계층 규격에 대한 필요성이 생겨났다. 본 표준이 없다면 각 표준이 자체 syslog 패킷 포맷과 전송 메커니즘을 정의해야 하는 미묘한 호환성 문제가 발생한다. |
| 영문 내용요약 |
This standard has been written with the original design goals for traditional syslog in mind. The need for a new layered specification has arisen because standardization efforts for reliable and secure syslog extensions suffer from the lack of a Standard-Track and transport-independent RFC. Without this document, each other standard needs to define its own syslog packet format and transport mechanism, which over time will introduce subtle compatibility issues.
