¿µ¹®³»¿ë¿ä¾à This standard defines function and service interface of optional MAC Merge sublayer which are used with a pair of full-duplex MACs and a single PHY operating at 100 Mb/s or higher on a point-to-point link. MAC Merge sublayer attaches an express Media Access Control (MAC) that carries the express traffic and a preemptable MAC that carries the preemptable traffic to a single Reconciliation Sublayer (RS) service, performing a preemption function in stopping or resuming transmission by dividing general traffic in progress based on a primitive received from a MAC client which supports preemption for priority transmission of time-sensitive traffic. This standard specifies the type and the format of a MAC merge packet generated by a MAC merging sublayer, and the operation according to whether or not a preemption is supported.
