| 한글내용요약 | 대체 텍스트는 이미지 내에 포함된 기능 또는 정보를 텍스트로 서술함으로써 비주얼 정보를 접근 가능하도록 하는 데 이용된다. Alt 속성은 이미지에 대한 기능적 동일성 또는 간략한 설명을 제공하기 위해 만들어졌다. 그러나 alt 속성은 글자 수의 제약이 있어 이미지에 대한 좀더 자세한 설명을 제공하는 용도로 longdesc 속성이 설계되었다. 일반적으로 alt속성을 이용하여 대체 텍스트를 제공하지만, 제공되는 대체 텍스트가 250자 이상인 경우에는 longdesc 속성을 이용한다. | ||
| 영문내용요약 | Text alternatives are used to make visual information accessible by describing the information or function represented in an image. The alt attribute is designed to provide a concise description or functional equivalent for an image. For some images and contexts, more detail is required to convey all the information contained in the image. The longdesc attribute is designed as a means to provide this level of detail.
HTML 4 provided a longdesc attribute for the img element that enabled a machine-discoverable description of an image to be linked to the image. This extension specification defines alongdesc attribute to provide that functionality for HTML5. |
