| 한글내용요약 | 본 표준에서는 웹 페이지에서 멀티스레드 구현을 통해 많은 처리를 해야하는 연산들을 UI와 완전히 분리시켜 백그라운드 단에서 수행함으로써 사용자의 대기 시간을 획기적으로 단축시켜 주는 웹 워커를 구현하기 위한 규격을 정의한다. 웹 워커는 메인에서 동작하는 UI 스레드와는 별개로 백그라운드에서 여러 개의 워커들이 각각의 기능을 하며 처리 동작을 하고 있는 형태로 이루어져 있으며, 워커를 생성하기 위해서는 메인 UI 페이지에서 워커 역할을 하는 자바스크립트를 호출하여 워커의 인터페이스 생성자를 호출하면 된다. 본 표준에서는 공유 워커와 전용 워커, 워커 생성 및 메시지 전달 인터페이스, 메시지 수신, 워커 종료 등에 대해 정의한다. | ||
| 영문내용요약 | This specification defines an API for running scripts in the background independently of any user interface scripts. This allows for long-running scripts that are not interrupted by scripts that respond to clicks or other user interactions, and it allows long tasks to be executed without yielding to keep the page responsive.
Workers (as these background scripts are called herein) are relatively heavy-weight, and they are not intended to be used in large numbers. For example, it would be inappropriate to launch one worker for each pixel of a four megapixel image. The examples contained in the standard show some appropriate uses of workers. |
