¿µ¹®³»¿ë¿ä¾à The standard defines the generic functional models, characteristics and processes associated with various ring protection schemes for connection oriented networks such as OTN, SDH, and MPLS-TP. It also defines the objectives and applications for these schemes. The protection scheme described in this standard is shared ring protection (SRP). This standard defines shared section link ring protection (SLRing) and dedicated section link ring protection (DLRing) as ring protection classes, defines wrapping, steering and short wrapping protection as protection architecture types and describes functional models for each protection class per each protection architecture type. This standard also defines normal (protection) traffic, non-pre-emptible unprotected traffic (NUT), and extra traffic (ET) as traffic types, bidirectional protection as a switching type, and revertive and non-revertive operations as operation types, and describes generic aspects of the ring protection such as protection commands, protection priority, and automatic protection switching (APS) protocol.
