¿µ¹®³»¿ë¿ä¾à | Fiber based MOPA laser is generally used as LADAR source for a ranging and 3D imaging and is a high power pulsed laser. MOPA is an abberations of master oscillator (seed laser) and power amplifier. Seed laser makes a pulsed laser which has a very low power. Therefore, it should be amplified using power amplifier of two or three stages. But optical fiber amplifier produces amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) in addition to amplification of optical signals. The ASE noise term can exceed the amplified power of seed laser because duty cycle of seed laser is very low about 1/10000. Even though it can be reduced by filtering noise in spectral domain, perfectly eliminating ASE noise is impossible. Simple peak power measurement for a single pulse is using oscilloscope with a high speed detector for converting optical to electrical signal. Generally these detectors operate in low optical power range. For MOPA fiber laser emitting a very high power over kW pulse peak power, high power attenuators are needed, but most of them are degraded and even burned for kW pulses. This standard is established to help MOPA laser developers to stably measure the output performance of MOPA laser. And it helps MOPA laser users to select a good product by comparing the spec data measured through the same method in various mopa lasers. | ||
