| 한글내용요약 | 모바일 기기의 단말 하드웨어 성능이 발전(고속 APU, GPOS, 터치스크린, WiFi/블루투스 등)함에 따라 플랫폼의 기능추가가 필요하였다. 본 표준규격에서는 기존의 TTAS.KO-06.0036/R6규격에서 최근의 모바일 사용환경에서의 변화를 반영하는 기능들의 확장이 이루어 졌다. 본 표준규격에서 확장된 주요 기능들로는 다중 쓰레드 응용 지원, IPC 기능 확장, UI 컴포넌트 추가, Wi-Fi와 터치스크린을 지원이 포함되어 있으며, 이외에도 파일시스템, 이벤트 전달 매커니즘, SMS 처리, 압축파일 지원 등의 다양한 분야에서 기능이 확장되었다.
본 표준규격에서 정의하고자 하는 모바일 표준 플랫폼은 플랫폼 이식성을 높이기 위한 표준화된 하드웨어 추상화 계층인 HAL(Handset Adaptation Layer)과 표준화된 플랫폼 호환성을 제공하여 다양한 응용 프로그램 개발을 촉진하기 위한 기본 응용 프로그래밍 인터페이스(Basic Application Programming Interface, 이하 Basic API)로 구성된다. 플랫폼 개발언어로는 C 언어 및 Java 언어를 모두 지원하도록 규격화하여, 개발자들의 참여 폭을 극대화 하였다. 또한, 이동통신사업자의 서비스 차원의 차별화를 위해 규격을 필수 기능과 선택 기능으로 분류하였으며, 특히 동적 링킹 라이브러리를 지원함에 따라 차별화된 라이브러리를 동적으로 제공할 수 있도록 하였다. |

| 영문내용요약 | The descriptions of the following layered constituents of the Mobile Standard
Platform are provided, which form the core of the platform technology: HAL (Handset Adaptation Layer) - This layer provides standardized hardware abstraction to facilitate quick and easy porting of Mobile Standard Platform on to mobile terminals. Basic API - This layer provides rich set of common application programming interface. Furthermore, the platform provides dynamic API updating and appending to facilitate operators to provide differentiated services to their customers. All of the APIs provide support for application programming in both C and Java language to tap into broader developer community. This revision has adopted various extensions, to adapt to recent requirements of the mobile industry, of the area of that including multi-threads, IPC, UI components, Wi-Fi and touch screen, etc. |
