is used in physical layer implementation. Both 40GBSAE-R and 100GBASE-R are based on a 64B/66B code that supports transmission of data and control characteristics. Data distribution is introduced to support multiple lanes in the physical layer. PCS inserts periodically Alignment marker, which allows the receive PCS to align data from multiple lanes. |
