¿µ¹®³»¿ë¿ä¾à This document defines the Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP), an authentication framework which supports multiple authentication methods. EAP typically runs directly over data link layers such as Point-to-Point Protocol(PPP) or IEEE 802, without requiring IP, but possibly over UDP or Diameter/RADIUSprotocol. The advantages of EAP are extensibility and flexibility, and it decides during EAP message exchange what kind of authentication method it will use. If some networks need to change the authentication method, it is sufficient to modify the method of peer and authentication server, but not NAS or wireless LAN AP. This document improves the interoperability of RFC 2284, extends to support vendor-specific authentication types, and defines some security analysis. This and RFC 2284 is equivalent in basic architecture, such as packet format, exchange procedure,etc.
