광대역-코드분할 다원접속 방식(W-CDMA)을 사용하는 3세대 비동기식 이동 통신 시스템에서 UTRAN과 GERAN 또는 타 무선 시스템 간 핸드 오버 요구 사항을 규정한다 본 표준은 서로 다른 base station에 관계된 무선 커버리지 지역, “셀”사이를 이동하는 무선 터미널에 서비스의 연속성을 유지하는 핸드오버에 관한 서비스 요구 사항을 담는다. 이러한 작용을 “핸드오버”라 부른다. 핸드오버는 관여된 base station이 변하지 않더라도 서비스를 제공하는 무선 자원이 변하면 일어난다. 특히, 서비스를 제공하는 무선 자원이 UTRA radio access 모드에서 다른 것으로(UTRA-FDD와 UTRA-TDD) 바뀔 때 이는 핸드오버로 간주된다. UTRAN 내 그리고 UTRAN과 GERAN 사이의 서비스 연속성을 위한 요구 사항을 상술하였다. |

| 영문내용요약 | The scope of this document includes service requirements for handover maintaining continuity of service to a wireless terminal as it moves between the radio coverage area, or "cells", associated with different base station sites. This functionality is called "handover". Handover can also occur due to change of radio resource providing a service without necessarily any change of the base stations involved. In particular, when the radio resources providing a service change from one of the UTRA radio access modes to the other (UTRA-FDD and UTRA-TDD), this is regarded as handover. Particular emphasis has been placed on the description of requirements for service continuity within UTRAN and between UTRAN and GERAN but requirements specific to other systems are incorporated as required. | ||
