Management Information Version 2) MIB 모듈 규격과 IEEE 802.3 에서 이미 정의한 관리 객체 정의 지침 (GDMO; Guidelines for the Definition of Managed Objects) MIB 모듈뿐만 아니라 IEEE 802.3 최신 개정으로 인한 확장 내용까지를 포함한다. SMIv2 MIB 모듈은 이더넷을 관리하는데 일반적으로 사용하는 SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)을 위한 것이다. 본 표준은 이더넷 LLDP 확장 MIB, 이더넷 OAM MIB, 이더넷 리피터 장치 MIB, MDI 를 통한 이더넷 DTE 전원 MIB, EPON MIB, Ethernet-like 인터페이스 MIB, EFMCu 인터페이스 MIB, 이더넷 WIS MIB, 이더넷 MAUs MIB 등의 모듈을 정의한다. |

| 영문내용요약 | This standard includes the Structure of Management Information Version 2 (SMIv2)
MIB module specifications formerly produced and published by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), and the Guidelines for the Definition of Managed Objects (GDMO) MIB modules formerly specified within IEEE Std 802.3, as well as extensions resulting from recent amendments to IEEE Std 802.3. The SMIv2 MIB modules are intended for use with the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), commonly used to manage Ethernet. It specifies modules for Ethernet LLDP extension MIB, Ethernet OAM MIB, Ethernet repeater device MIB, Ethernet DTE via MDI MIB, EPON MIB, Ethernet-like interface MIB, EFMCu interface MIB, Ethernet WIS MIB, Ethernet MAUs MIB, etc.. |
