The Directory plays a significant role in Open Systems Interconnection whose aim is to allow, with a minimum technical agreement outside of interconnection standards themselves, the interconnection of information processing systems. This Standard defines a number of selected object classes and name forms based on the directory information base to facilitate communication between various objects. |
