¿µ¹®³»¿ë¿ä¾à This standard is intended to describe characteristics of a passive optical network (PON) with the capability of transporting various services between the user-network interface and the service node interface, and to cover transmission convergence (TC) issues between the service node interface and the user-network interface. It deals with specifications for frame format, MAC (media access control) method, ranging method, OAM functionality and security in G-PON networks. It also describes a method of ToD (time of day) distribution in a G-PON system, and introduces a new PON-ID maintenance capability, as well as new physical layer operations, administrations and maintenance (PLOAM) functions: broadcast POPUP to Operation state, and relative equalization delay adjustment.
