It contains revisions to the evaluation criteria for accessibility certification of EPUB, focusing on 137 guidelines according to the change in the composition and content of the first part of the authoring guidelines revised in June 2020.

There is a limit to the fact that as of July 2021, when this standard is revised, there is no accredited global accessibility e-book certification standard.

In addition, in the case of the enacted version of this standard, the authoring guideline (2016) items are classified only by self-examination and expert examination, so there may be differences in interpretation of examination criteria for each item between the examiners depending on the personal characteristics (level of knowledge, level of understanding, etc.) and book characteristics (book structure, etc.). To guarantee the fairness, objectivity, and homogeneity of the examination, the certification items were grouped according to their importance and presented.
