¿µ¹®³»¿ë¿ä¾à | The rain attenuation for a satellite is given by the product of specific rain attenuation and effective-path-length. By applying new effective-path-length models for earth-space satellite link which is based on the physical characteristics of rain cells, models for predicting rain attenuation in local and global environments are proposed in the standard. The existing effective-path-length model of ITU-R has some drawbacks: it is an empirical model and thus the effective-path-length is frequency dependent, and the equations for prediction are quite complicated. The global effective-path-length model in the standard is a new model which can overcome such drawbacks of the effective-path-length model of ITU-R. The proposed model has advantages that it is a physical model based on the rain cell characteristics obtained from the analysis of the measurement data by domestic meteorological radars, and also that the prediction equation is quite simple compared to the ITU-R model.
When the effective-path-length model and the rain attenuation model of ITU-R are applied to domestic environments, the prediction error is quite large. Therefore, in the standard, the local effective-path-length model, which can be applied to domestic environments, is also presented as well as the global model based on the rain-cell concept. The test results of the local and the global models in the standard against the measurement data (domestic measurement data and ITU-R SG3 data bank) and the ITU-R model are also given in the Appendices. |
