Gateway Location Register구현의 관련 기준으로 사용할 수 있다 이 TR은 로밍사용자에 대해 inter-PLMN link상으로 전달되는 위치정보 관리와 관계된 MAP 신호 트래픽량을 줄이기 위한 방법으로 UMTS Core 네트웍내의 Gateway Location Register의 사용에 대해 설명하고 있다. 이 TR의 요구사항중의 하나는 UMTS PLMN상의 GLR의 존재가 2세대 PLMN (GSM Release 98 또는 그이전) 또는 3세대 PLMN (GSM Release 99 또는 그이전)에서는 알 수 없는 네트웍 구조를 가져야 한다는 것이다. 그러므로 이 보고서의 목적은 GSM에 특화된 interface나 procedure가 아래와 같은 목적으로 변화되지 않아야 한다는 것을 말하고 있다. - UMTS PLMN에 GLR을 통합하는 것 - GLR이 사용가능한 UMTS 네트웍과 GSM / GLR을 가지고 있지 않은 UMTS 네트웍간에 상호작용이 가능하도록 하는 것 이 TR은 GLR이 단일 VPLMN만을 지원하고 있는 경우에 한정되며, GLR이 복수의 VPLMN을 지원하는 경우는 각각의 TR이 요구된다. 여기에서는 GLR이 복수의 HPLMN을 지원하는 경우에 대해서 설명한다. |

| 영문내용요약 | The present document describes the use of a Gateway Location Register within the UMTS Core Network as a means of reducing the amount of MAP signalling traffic associated with location management carried over inter-PLMN links for roaming users.
One of the requirements of the present document is to describe a network architecture where the presence of a GLR within a UMTS PLMN is not visible to either a second generation PLMN (i.e. GSM release 98 or earlier) or a 3G PLMN (i.e. GSM Release 99 or later). So the objective of this report is that changes to GSM specified interfaces or procedures will not be needed in order to: - integrate a GLR into a UMTS PLMN; - allow interworking between a GLR-enabled UMTS network and a GSM or UMTS network without a GLR. The present document will be restricted to the study of the case where the GLR supports one VPLMN only. A separate TR will be required if support of multiple VPLMNs by the GLR is to be studied.
