| 한글내용요약 | 본 표준은 패킷 기반 네트워크에서 멀티미디어 통신 서비스를 제공해 주기 위한 단말과 기타 엔티티에 대하여 기술한다. H.323 엔티티는 실시간 오디오, 비디오 및 데이터 통신을 제공한다. 오디오는 기본으로 제공하며, 비디오와 데이타는 옵션으로 제공한다. H.323 엔티티가 있는 패킷 기반 네트워크는 점 대 점. 연결이 될 수도 있고, 하나의 네트워크 세그먼트, 또는 복잡한 토폴로지를 갖는 멀티플 세그먼트를 갖고 상호 동작할 수도 있다. 또한 H.323 엔티티들은 점대점, 멀티포인트, 브로드캐스팅 등 모든 구성에서 쓰여질 수 있다.
H.323 단말은 화상 전화와 같은 독립적인 장치로 구현되거나 개인용 컴퓨터에 포함되어 구현될 수 있다. |

| 영문내용요약 | This Recommendation describes terminals and other entities that provide multimedia communications services over Packet Based Networks (PBN) which may not provide a guaranteed Quality of Service. H.323 entities may provide realtime audio,video and/or data communications.Support for audio is mandatory, while data and video are optional, but if supported, the ability to use a specified common mode of operation is required, so that all terminals supporting that media type can interwork. The packet based network over which H.323 entities communicate may be a point-to-point connection, a single
network segment, or an internetwork having multiple segments with complex topologies. H.323 entities may be used in point-to-point, multipoint, or broadcast (as described in Recommendation H.332) configurations. H.323 entities may be integrated into personal computers or implemented in stand-alone devices such as videotelephones. |
