¿µ¹®³»¿ë¿ä¾à | With the development of optical multiplexing using technologies such as Dense Wave
Division Multiplexing (DWDM), a new layer has begun to evolve in fiber-opticsbased telecommunications networks. This is the optical network layer that provides transport services to interconnect clients such as IP routers, MPLS Label Switching Routers, ATM switches, SONET ADMs, etc. In its initial form, the optical transport network uses SONET/SDH as the framing structure, but the network may not be limited to these clients in the future. The UNI is the service control interface between the transport network and client equipment. Signaling over the UNI is used to invoke services that the transport network offers to clients. This document defines the services offered over the UNI, the signaling protocols used for invoking the services, the mechanisms for transporting signaling messages and autodiscovery procedures that aid in signaling. |
