¿µ¹®³»¿ë¿ä¾à This standard defines the encoding and decoding algorithm of narrowband audio signal. This is based on the ITU-T recommendations G.711 (1988). When encoding the input samples, the eight digits per sample should be used for internal circuit. Two encoding law are recommended and these are commonly referred to as the A-law and the u-law.
This standard also includes two appendixes; one is for packet loss concealment and one is for comfort noise payload. Packet loss concealment (PLC) algorithms, also known as frame erasure concealment algorithms, hide transmission losses in an audio system where the input signal encoded and packetized at a transmitter, sent over a network, and received at a receiver that decodes the packet and plays out the output. Many of the standard CELP-based speech coders have PLC algorithms built into their standards. The algorithm described here provided a method for Recommendation G.711 This standard also, defines a comfort noise payload format (or bit-stream) for pulse code modulation use in packet based multimedia communication system. The use of the payload format is intended for packet-based systems with large header overhead where the packet transmission rate plays a significant role in the overall system bit-rate. In this situation, the use of VAD/DTX/CNG can significantly reduce the packet transmission rate and hence improve the bandwidth efficiency.
