The web map service specification has promoted the sharing and utilizing of the spatial data in various kinds of applications. Therefore, the client-side developers not having their own spatial data could implement the applications dealing the spatial data. The clients could request diverse map servers through the simple interfaces of the web map servers to return the map without understanding the complex functionalities of GIS. |
