| 한글내용요약 | 소프트웨어 정의 네트워크(SDN)란 스위치, 라우터와 같은 네트워크 장치의 제어
부분을 데이터 전송 부분과 분리하고, 네트워크 장치의 기능을 정의할 수 있는 개방형 인터페이스를 외부에 제공하여 이를 통해 프로그램된 소프트웨어로 다양한 네트워크 경로 설정 및 제어, 관리 등을 할 수 있도록 하는 기술을 의미한다. SDN 을 구성하는 주요 특징으로는 제어 평면(control plane)과 데이터 평면(data plane)의 분리, 프로그램 가능한 제어 평면을 위한 개방형 인터페이스, 하부 인프라 네트워크의 가상화 지원 기능으로 구분된다. 본 표준에서는 이중 개방형 인터페이스를 사우스바운드 인터페이스(southbound interface), 노스바운드 인터페이스(northbound interface), 이스트-웨스트바운드 인터페이스(east-westbound interface)로 분류하고, 각각을 위한 요구 사항을 기술한다. |

| 영문내용요약 | SDN is a new networking technology which allows centralized, programmable control
planes and data plan abstraction, where control and data planes are separated, so that network operators and/or service providers can control and manage directly their own virtualized resources and networks without recognizing detailed hardware technologies. To achieve this, with SDN, control and data planes are separated which allows control to be directly programmable and manageable in a centralized manner and data plane to be simplified and abstracted rather than specialized hardware. In this regard, this Standard describes requirements of open interfaces including southbound, northbound, and east-westbound interfaces. |
