¿µ¹®³»¿ë¿ä¾à This standard specifies a protocol to provide users with the integrated services of
such as the broadcasting of DMB (digital multimedia broadcasting) quality, wireless
communications tasks needed in the SOHO (small office home office) environment,
and the controls required for home automation.
To support the wide range of applications from control to video signals, this
standard uses identical protocols using fixed frame formats, and provides a means to
avoid interference between multiple users in the user-crowded environments. Further,
the standard specifies a structure that can support the QoS of wire quality, low latency
less than 20 ms, and low power consumption necessary for such as sensor
applications.
For the integration of protocols, the standard defines frame, middle-frame, and
super-frame. The length of the middle-frame is fixed to 16 ms which is a tolerable
latency in most applications. The length of the frames is variable such that the frames fit into the fixed-length middle-frame even though the applications vary. The format
and length of the middle-frames are identical for all users.
The standard defines the schemes for frequency hopping and allocation in the 2.4
GHz ISM (industry, science, medicine) band.
In addition, the standard defines the scan code, security code, and group code to
provide distinction and to avoid interference between nearby pico-nets.
