본 표준은 자가 적응형 소프트웨어 프레임워크에서 다양한 정책 알고리즘을 적용할 수 있도록 입력 리소스(CPU, 프로세스, 메모리 등)와 출력 리소스(CPU, 네트워크, GPU 등)들에 대한 표준화된 인터페이스를 정의한다. 각 입력/출력 리소스를 하나의 소프트웨어 모듈인 어댑터라고 한다. 어댑터 인터페이스로는 센서로부터 정보를 획득하기 위한 모니터링 인터페이스와 시스템 상황을 인지하여 최종 판단에 따라 리소스를 조절하기 위한 제어 인터페이스로 구성된다.

This standard defines coherent programming interfaces about input resources (CPU, process, memory, etc.) and Output resources(CPU, GPU, network etc.) that can be utilized to make self-adaptive applications using a variety of control methods. This document considers each I/O resources as software adapters that can be handle the same kinds of monitoring or control objects. Therefore, this I/O adapter is composed of monitoring interface to collect information from sensor adapters and control interface to manage output devices according to final decision.
