This standard defines the compression method of digital audio and video signal, the packetization of compressed audio-visual bitstream, and the multiplexed packet structure of MPEG-2 TS(Transport Stream) for Korean digital satellite broadcasting service. Further, this standard describes the detailed usage and the syntax of service information, defined in DVB(Digital Video Broadcasting) and MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) standards, for the specification of the structure of served broadcasting programs, and defines the DVB-S and DVB-S2 transport system for the complete explanation of the delivery of multiplexed broadcasting programs through satellite. Finally, annexes are included in the last part of this standard for the terms and the abbreviations, which were used in the text of this standard, and the specification of the KoreaSat-3/KoreaSat-6 satellite and its link budget for service providers as references.
