Components and functions of the physical layer and the relation between the physical layer and the high layers for SAT-OFDM with compatibility to 3GPP LTE and LTE-Advanced technology as satellite IMT-Advanced system are generally represented. Regarding to the relation between each layer, the structure of protocol between each layer and the services provided by the physical layer are explained. Next, regarding to components and function of the physical layer, multiple access, channel coding and interleaving, modulation, physical layer procedure and physical layer measurement are generally addressed. Finally, the configuration and the contents of the standards for physical layer of SAT-OFDM are described.
