본 표준에서는 서로 다른 디지털 저작권 관리(DRM: Digital Rights Management) 기술의 연동을 통해 스트리밍 동영상 콘텐츠가 하나의 DRM 보호 체계로부터 또 다른 DRM 보호 체계로 전달되는 것을 기본 시나리오로 삼고, 상호 연동 과정을 위해 필요한 프로토콜을 명시하고 있다. 표준에서는 연동 에이전트 간의 등록, 협상, 전송 과정을 통해 DRM 간의 연동 과정을 설명하고 있으며, 이를 위한 연동 프로토콜을 설명한다. 또한 연동 프로토콜을 위한 프로토콜 메시지의 스키마와 패킷 포맷을 다루고 있다. |

In the standard, based on the basic scenario that content is delivered from the DRM1 protection system to the DRM2 protection system through DRM-to-DRM interfaces, information required for interoperability procedures is defined and protocols describing interfacing processes between heterogeneous DRM systems are specified. The standard describes interfacing processes between heterogeneous DRM systems through authentication, negotiation and transmission processes between heterogeneous DRM systems, and also interfacing information named DADMI and interfacing protocol named DADII. In addition, protocol message schema and packet formats for interfacing protocols are handled.
