소프트웨어 어플리케이션들이 점차 다양한 응용분야에서 광범위하게 사용됨에 따라 소프트웨어 품질의 중요성이 높아지고 있다. 특히 제품으로서의 소프트웨어와 같이 불특정다수를 대상으로 개발된 제품의 품질이 미치는 파급효과는 더 크다. 소프트웨어 제품의 품질을 객관적이고 정량적으로 명세하고 평가하기 위하여, 객관적인 근거를 제시할 수 있는 지표로서 평가 항목들이 정의되어야 한다. 본 표준은 소프트웨어 제품의 품질 평가를 위한 기본 틀로서 품질평가 모형과 평가 항목을 제시한다. |

As software applications have been widely used in various domains, the importance of software quality gets higher and higher. In particular, the quality of software product has more impact on users, because users of software product are not predetermined. In order to specify and evaluate the quality of software product objectively and quantitatively, we need to define measurement which could play the role of objective indicators. The standard provides both the measurement framework and measurement that can be used to measure the quality of software product.
