¿µ¹® ³»¿ë¿ä¾à | This technical report examines issues to be considered for designing file systems for FTL based storage. Flash memory has many constraints on usage; these constraints should be considered when designing file systems for FTL based storage. FTL performs mapping between a logical address to a physical address to avoid flash memory constraints. When overwriting occurs, FTL changes these maps which places a heavy overload on I/O performance. Therefore, to increase I/O performance, file systems should minimize overwrites. Log-structured file systems basically do not incur overwriting, do they write data sequentially to storage, so they fit well with FTL based storage. | ||||||||||||||||
