임베디드 자가 적응형 컴퓨팅은 응용 개발자에 의한 별도의 성능 최적화 노력 없이도 임베디드 응용들이 임베디드 디바이스의 제한된 컴퓨팅 리소스들을 자동으로 최적 활용하여 응용들이 요구하는 성능을 제공할 수 있다. 본 표준은 임베디드 자가 적응형 디바이스의 자가 적응형 응용을 편리하고 정확하게 개발할 수 있도록 지원하는 개발 환경 제공에 필요한 임베디드 자가 적응형 응용 개발 도구의 기능적 요구 사항을 정의한다. 이를 위해 우선 자가 적응형 응용의 특성과 개발 과정을 설명한 후, 개발 도구를 통한 자가 적응형 응용 개발 환경이 제공해야 하는 도구 기능을 응용 개발자들 요구사항 관점에서 정의한다.

This standard describes the specifications of the functional requirements of development tool for self-adaptive applications on embedded devices. To do this, we describe the features of self-adaptive applications development process first, and then define the functional requirement of development tool for self-adaptive applications on embedded devices in the view of self-adaptive application developer.
