This standard provides a web-based remote visualization protocol that can be used in environments where it is not possible to use a display connected to the embedded device. Many embedded systems are not equipped with a display device that can be checked in real time, and in many cases they don't include X-windows GUI environments for more lightweight system. But developers need to develop and execute application including vision processing according to various demands, but implementation in such an embedded system may cause various inconveniences depending on the constraints of the physical environment. Meanwhile, most of the embedded devices can perform network communication, so the standard defines a web-based remote visualization protocol that can check or display images to improve the existing development environment. This provides the advantage of being able to respond universally to various embedded environments by using a universal web environment and being used as a more useful tool for embedded developers with vision application.
