‘지능형 홈네트워크용 단지 서버 프로토콜’(KS X 4505) 표준은 단지 네트워크 환경에서 단지 서버와 홈게이트웨이/월패드, 주차 관제 시스템, 엘리베이터, CCTV, 무인 택배 시스템, 주동 출입 장치, 원격 검침기와 같은 공용 장치들 간 메시지 송수신을 위한 프로토콜 및 프로파일을 정의하고 있다. 첫 번째 시험에서는 구현한 장치가 ‘KS X 4505-1’ 베이스 프로토콜 기반으로 정상적으로 동작하는지에 대한 검증을 수행하고, 두 번째 시험에서는 장치 제어와 같은 실제 메시지를 전달했을 때 그 기능이 정상적으로 수행되는지를 검증하게 된다. 본 표준에서는 두번째 시험에 대해 기술한다.

A specification of KS X 4505(The Complex Server Protocol for Intelligent Home Network) defines protocol and profiles for message exchange among shared units such as complex server, home gateway/wallpad, elevator, CCTV, remote meter reading and etc. KS X 4505 stadard can be divided into 4 parts. KS X 4505 part 1 defines a base protocol which performs the massage delivery; KS X 4505 part 2, 3, 4 defines message profiles for each shared unit. A test for the KS X 4505 standard can be distinguished as follows;

(1) A conformance test for messages of KS X 4505-1 base protocol
(2) A conformance and functional test for device functions according to each profile of shared units

In the first test, a verification of IUT (Implementation Under Test) is performed whether the IUT is working properly based on the KS X 4505-1 base protocol. In the second test, a verification of IUT is performed whether the IUT is working properly based on the KS X 4505-2, 3, 4 message profiles. In this standard, a test procedure for the second test is described.
