This Recommendation is to provide the characteristics of a single-mode optical fibre and cable with zero-dispersion wavelength shifted into the 1550 nm wavelength region i.e. mode field diameter, cladding diameter, core concentricity error, non-circularity, cut-off wavelength, macrobending loss, material properties of the fibre, refractive index profile, longitudinal uniformity of chromatic dispersion, chromatic dispersion coefficient, attenuation coefficient and polarization mode dispersion coefficient.
