본 표준은 MPLS의 사용자 평면에서의 OAM과 제어평면과 TMN에서의 MPLS의 관리 방법을 기술한다. 우선 MPLS 기반의 네트워크가 서비스네트워크의 코어부분을 구성하고, MPLS의 클라이언트 계층으로 ATM이나 프레임릴레이, 이더넷 등의 계층2 기술이 종단간 기술로 사용되는 네트워크 모델을 정의한다.
또한 M.3010의 TMN 모델에 적용되는 MPLS 기술에 특화된 OAM 기능에 초점을 맞추어 사용자 평면과 제어 평면에서의 네트워크 요소들간의 연동, 그리고 네트워크 요소들과 EMS, NMS 시스템간의 연동을 위한 구성요소들과 그들간의 인터페이스를 정의하는 것을 그 범위로 한다.

영문 내용요약

This Standard covers MPLS user-plane operation administration maintenance, control plane aspects and TMN aspects of MPLS management. The network models include the cases where MPLS based networks constitute the core part of the service networks while other layer 2 technologies are used to convey end-to-end services which are the client layer of the MPLS portion. This Recommendation focuses on MPLS technology specific OAM aspects of the TMN model of M.3010. The Recommendation scope is limited to those components and interfaces that interface between network elements (user and control plane), and between network elements and EMS, NMS systems.
