The standard describes for the shield to extend the performance and functionality of the board, when making such a device is manufactured by using the open-source HW / SW. It introdeces an overview of the extended shield which can be combined like the most commercialized the open source Arduino HW, classification, depending on the capabilities of the shield and a common feature. It also proposes considerations when choosing a shield expansion. Finally, the selection of the currently commercialized expanded shield representative of the function introduced in detail in the appendix.
